About Deer Isle Stonington Elementary School
The Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School opened its doors for K-8 students and staff on Monday, February 26, 2001. It houses students previously located in three separate facilities in the communities of Deer Isle and Stonington.
The school motto has always been “It takes a whole community to educate a child”. The building of this magnificent facility mirrors this motto. Complete with a 400 seat auditorium, this facility certainly is one which our community is proud to own. Many thousands of hours have gone into the physical design, as well as the educational plan within this school’s walls. The tremendous support received throughout the entire building process has been a testament to the true spirit and belief in our educational system and our community’s children.
Today, administration and staff are committed to making this school one of the best in the state of Maine. We encourage you to stop by our state of the art facility.
